¿Questions?

We're here to make your learning journey fun and easy. If your question is not answered below, email us and we'll get back to you within 48 hours, you curious cat!

We suggest bringing a pen, water bottle and notebook to class. We have beautiful El Patio notebooks for sale which include some beginner cheat sheets. There are also El Patio tote bags to carry your books! You can purchase these extras during the checkout page and pick them up right before class.

Most students pick up the textbook right before their first class - say 5-10 minutes prior. If you’d like to pick up your textbook earlier, no worries! Our opening hours are available on Google and are updated when we’re between terms.

Never fear! We have a level for everyone and you're more than welcome to try another class to see if it's a better fit. If you're not 100% sure about the level when you sign up, a good idea is not to purchase and collect the textbook right at the start. This way you can try the level and see if it's a good match before committing to the textbook (your perfect level may be using a different textbook!). We’re happy to provide you with photocopies of the course material for the first class.

That’s normal! Life is busy and sometimes things get in the way of our Spanish learning journey! If you do need to miss a class, there are several ways you can catch up.

1. Complete the homework and work covered on your own at home. After every class the teacher will send out a brief summary of what was covered and the homework set. Using your book you’ll be able to follow along and come to the next class with questions about anything you don't understand.

2. Try to attend another class that week. These are best arranged in the week prior, so simply send and email or get in touch with reception, and we’ll let you know what’s available.

3 Complete our online video modules! We have video content for all the Beginner levels so no one falls behind. These are accessed via your student portal.

Transfers to a future Term are possible if you notify us more than 7 days prior to the first class. This will incur a small Service Fee of 10% of the full course fee. Refunds are not possible once enrolment has been confirmed.

Once a course is underway, we are unable to accept any credit transfer requests. We always empathise when life gets in the way of your Spanish studies! But to keep offering classes, we need to be able to implement this.

We ask that you consider your circumstances carefully before committing to a course, and are prepared to do the extra work it may require to catch up if you miss a class or two. Please don’t panic about coming to class if you haven’t done your homework or feel a little behind – the important thing is to keep showing up! Any contact with the language is good – you won’t get in trouble and we won’t embarrass you. This is all for your learning and pleasure so please – come and enjoy!

Oh dear, glitch in the Matrix? Let’s get you sorted. Email us at info@elpatiospanish.com.au and we’ll straighten things out.

We don’t run classes on Victorian public holidays. Classes that fall on public holidays are usually rescheduled to the Friday of that week, or to the week after Term. You’ll be notified of the arrangements via email during the first few weeks of your course, but please get in touch if you have any questions about specific arrangements.

Multiple courses are valid for use during the cycle of one academic year: Summer Intensives, Term 1, Autumn Intensives, Term 2, Term 3 and Term 4. The multiple courses expire after one full rotation of the academic year. For example, if you purchased your multiple courses for Term 4, 2023 the last chance to use the courses would be Term 3, 2024. Refunds and Transfers are not possible for unused courses as the discount is offered based on your commitment to complete these courses during that time.

The multiple course fee is for single student use only and may not be shared with other students.

Once an enrolment has been confirmed (either as the initial course or a course later nominated by the student), the same Terms and Conditions relating to a transfer to a future Term applies as above.

You can read our full Terms and Conditions here.
